Through a meticulous process of point cloud generation, mesh reconstruction, and texture mapping, we generate RAW triangulated (~7 million polygons) meshes from the original photogrammetry *.CR2/*.RAW photosets, ready for retopologizing and texture baking.
As the scan having a true-to-life scale is important for many purposes like having correct shading, we advise our clients to have a calibrated-scale bar in their sessions, like Bureau of Land Management's scale bars. It can achieve highly accurate measurements during scientific photogrammetric imaging of 3D scan data.
Our RAW meshes are to scale to reality based on the scale calibration kit from the session, we also follow a linear pipeline for color management and calibration using a color-checker-chart shot.
A Quick timelapse for the process of generating a raw 3D scan out of the actor's photogrammetry session.
